Coastline north of Greymouth, South Island, New Zealand. This is the Tasman Sea, nicknamed The Ditch, e.g. crossing the ditch means going to Australia from New Zealand or vice versa. . . Panasonic DMC-FZ7. Thank you for taking a look, your comments are welcome and always appreciated.

Wonderful view. Do you cross the ditch much? How far is it from shore to shore, Eve? This looks a bit like the California coastline that I have only seen in photos also. I wish NZ weren't so far away. Thanks for bringing it to my screen.

Very beautiful and peaceful-looking scene with just the right kind and amount of rocks and bush in the foreground. P.S. Here they call crossing the Atlantic "crossing the big lake".

Wonderful composition/image Lyn. Think it's a very nice place to relax and enjoy the 'never ending song'of the sea.
Great post.

I can see that. That's quite a trench between those two land masses. Stunning capture.

I agree with Cindy. Your photos always leave me longing to see your part of the world.

This is just another fine teaser and a treasure all at the same time.

Perhaps when I retire??

You have such a genius for composition - using that rock and the two diagonal weeds turns this from ordinary into arresting. How do you spot them I wonder? Fab shot LE

A breath-taking view, indeed! I could see this on a travel brochure for NZ! I love the foliage and rocks in the foreground, as well as your wonderful framing. And yes, I too, would love the opportunity someday to visit your beautiful country. But for now, I thank you for bringing it to me here. Kudos!

Btw, how far is it from coast to coast?
