Can always rely on these for a year round display :) This is one of my first attempts with my new camera a few days ago. I don't have a clue what I am doing so just put it on Automatic and hoped for the best. . . reading the manual is going to take me weeks. . . . Canon EOS 450D . . thanks for looking, comments welcome. If you have any handy hints I am all ears :)You have heard of a Rebel Without a Cause? Well, I have a Rebel Without a Clue :)

Well, the automatic function has produced a perfect image Lyn. So you can carry on with that till you master all the other functions. Beautiful!

well, maybe you should write the manual. i think you're going to love the camera and the lenses that make it so great. you've presented another LynEve beauty!

A great capture very well presented. It seems the camera & lens works great without the manual. (a Rebel Wthout a Clue, A good one Lyn.)

Automatic works for most stuff, Eve, leaving only the special lighting situations to have to deal with. In a ferw more years, we'll be obsolete. ;)

Wonderful job.

Just great Lyn. I love you play on words in the narrative. I would say you have started out really good. I understand what you are going through. More on that at a future date. Have a good weekend.

Image came out beautifully! Good luck with your new camera. I am so stuck with loving my old camera, doubt if I will ever experiment with a new one. Can't wait to see more!

I'm not sure your gorgeous posts from the past are going to improve with new Canon. One just doesn't get any better images than what you got with that FZ7. Here I set with thousands of dollars worth of Canon camera equipment and I don't think I can do as well as you have done with the Panasonic. We shall see what your Canon bring forth. Meanwhilwe, don't throw away the FZ7.

Looks like you did a fine job Lyn, new camera or not. Like Momma says, if you're expecting to do a whole lot better when you've mastered your Canon, you just might be disappointed ;-). My tip would be to buy yourself a user-friendly handbook. I found it much less frustrating working through a logically structured guide step by step rather than trying to make sense of the user manual. My favourite is The Digital SLR Handbook by Michael Freeman but a search on Amazon will show you plenty. Meanwhile, congrats on this lovely shot! And remember - you might need to learn how to use a new camera, but you need NO help with the really hard stuff - how to compose a great photo. You could do that in your sleep ;-)
