Campbell's Bay, Kakanui, New Zealand. This is very close to the mouth of the Kakanui River in my Twilight Time picture. It was a good day for clouds :) Most of our local beaches have white sand so I really like this golden bay. Notice all the seaweed washed up by the recent high seas. For those interested - Campbells Bay encompasses an area of fossiliferous rocks, with limestone of the Eocene, Oligocene and Miocene period and greensand.:)It is part of our Vanished World Trail . . Canon EOS 450D (and Twilight Time was too, most of you guessed correctly. I think the Panasonic would have done a better job lol) Thanks for viewing, comments most welcome

I love the depth here, Eve. Such a beautiful shot. You should have taken one with the Panasonic for comparison. My son uses the FZ7. It's a nice camera, but there are many things that you can't do with it that you can do with a DSLR. And most of the time, it's what the photographer does that makes the real difference anyway. lol

As Cindy said great depth to this. I especially like the flow line of the shore leading to that oncoming rushing sky. Nice work indeed Lyn.

A great capture of the sea and the sky, Lyn. The wave has so much water in it so it must have been flood tide and the sky looks wonderful. It doesn't matter so much which camera it is - it is your eye for the right capture at the right time that matters - and that you have here also as usual.

I love the way the sky and sea meet. The waves rolling up on shore are nice, too!

This is trademark LE for me - sweeping curve, great wild ocean and a sense that the whole thing is reaching out to grab you in. I don't agree the Panasonic would have done a better job - it would never have got the detail the Canon has captured in the clouds. A bit of brightening in the post work might look good, but this is a fine shot - especially given you're still working out what all those knobs and dials do!
