Sun on snow above Lake Tekapo. If you look closely on the opposite shore you may see a tiny vehicle just off-centre - which gives some idea of the hugeness of the mountain behind. Taken at 4.30 pm as the sun was going down. Canon EOS 450D - thanks for viewing :)

Lyn

Nice looking image. I love the contrast between the snow and the rest of the scenery. The whole image is very well composed.

Nice shot. Like the textures created by the shadow play on the mountains to the left.

We now know where you were at 4:02 and 4:30 if you need an alibi. Just a great vista Lyn. That mountain and those clouds make for a heavenly photo. You must have been pretty close to the Good Shepherd when you took this shot. Excellent post.

Such a gorgeous scene, and you captured it superbly! Such a nice contrast between the solid snow covered mountain and the beautiful color of the firs. Beautiful clouds too.

The light in this is wonderful Lyn, the warmth of the light on the trees gives it some lovely reddish tones that contrast really well with the white mountains. You live in such a beautiful country. Just gorgeous - you're on a roll at the minute for sure.
