Lake Tekapo beneath the clouds. . ."Tekapo" is a Maori word meaning Night Sleeping Place (Taka is "sleeping mat" and Po is "night") . I had to lie down for this shot (not to sleep:) ) and after looking a proper idiot doing so I was disappointed the foreground lacks clarity. I like the sky though, and hope you may too. . Thanks for viewing, comments always welcome.

I see your dilema Lyn. However the view of the mountains more than make up for any non clarity. Great post.

Who needs a clear foreground with a sky and a background like this? this is one of the most dramatic landscape shots I've seen on here. Fabulous!!

Wonderful shot, Eve. Worth lying down and looking silly. A little foreground blur does not detract from the impact of the sky and mountains at all.

A beautiful view of the mountains and a scarey looking sky. I think i would run for cover. A great job on this dramatic scene.

You caught a very nice perspective, and the composition makes this work for me. Very nice!

Giving away your perspective secrets? lol This is one of those times when lying down on the job is the right choice! Lovely all the way around.

Looking like an idiot is a bit of an occupational hazard with photography isn't it. Sometimes I'm amazed that I get into the positions I do. It was worth it for this - the sky's great even if, as you say, the foreground's not so sharp.

A bit too cold for a sleeping place, I would say:) Nice shot with the mountains at the back and that sky.

Got this one in the VB and knew it was yours Lyn. Don't however tell you what I was voting, lol. Think you might have an indication by telling you that I 'Saved & Faved' this image. Thanks!

This shot captures the enormity and wildness of the landscape and sky so well. What a remarkable country!

Definately a rich looking sky. I do believe it is a far better shot than you give it credit for.

You did a great job. it looks ominous which I think can sometimes be the hardest mood to capture without a lot of manipulation. This capture is outstanding. Very well done.
