This was not a b/w photo but appeared to be one as the sea was grey that day. I decided to liven it up with a bit of colour. Not sure if it works - your comments are welcome :) Canon EOS 450D

Gives me the idea that I'm watching this seagull from the bridge of a ship while a searchlight is folllowing it.
Very well done Lyn!

I like what you did with the colour and light Lyn - applying it both to the picture and the frame! It is kind of luminous!

You've done a wonderful job with this picture. I just love the framing and gentle lilac tone with the lighting effect. It looks lovely in full screen...a meditation in imagery.
A must for my favs with appreciation, so that I can go away and unwind. Thanks for sharing the tranquility...Jacquie

Something different from you LE, I especially like the warmth of the patch of sunlight on the waves.

Interesting with the color, I would be interested to see it in black and gray tones too, might be really dramatic.

Hi Lyn,
I like this shot a lot - it really brings out the vastness and loneliness of the sea in a dramatic way. However, I do think the lighting effect is just a tad overstated. I think something slightly more subtle would communicate your beautiful capture eloquently, IMHO.
