You may like to compare this Sunflower with my b/w version,IMAGINE . I much prefer this one. I hope you may like it too. Someone said they wished the petal tips had not been chopped off so I have 'painted' some in for this one. Thank you for viewing, comments always welcome.

I prefer this one too, it jumps out at you with colour whereas the bw is all about shape. This is a supernova! Love the depth in the petals and the way the shadows accentuate the shapes. Frame's great too, really adds.

Yes this version is definitely better than the b/w. The colours are lovely and your framing is as usual superb!

Lyn, think I have to cool down my monitor as this beautiful 'burning' sunflower gives that much 'warmth'!
Excellent post!

A beautiful sunny day but really really cold, burr and the windchill makes it a lot worse.

Do you suppose some of the energy being emitted by this sunflower could be harnessed and marketed during our energy crises. lol
It's so bright, it's almost as if its bursting with attitude and sayin "look at me, here I am".
Keepin this un fo sure. See...it even affected my speech :)

Lots of light and wonderful color. The framing just embraces the whole and makes for such a warm, inviting image.

Why this has the current C-score of 55 rating I do not understand. This is an 80's presentation to me. People must not appreciate flowers.

Hi Eve...I have had this image sitting on my desktop PC since you posted it. I love sunflowers and they remind me of the warmer days (oh please, make it soon:) that are to come. There is a wonderful three-dimensional quality about it....thru your framing and the shadows that appear across the upper center of the blossom itself. Yet, I keep looking at it (not only for it's beauty:) but because something was bothering me and I couldn't figure out what it was! The dim light bulb finally went on and that bottom leaf is what kept drawing my eye away from the sunflower! It isn't a major distraction since the flower is so brilliant and the color so vivid, yet that leaf pulled me. I think the whitish color of it is what provides the distraction since I find no distraction with the other leaves....
Anyway, now you have my penny's worth but it is still on my desktop as a reminder of days yet to come and for it's beauty.
Many thanks for sharing this with me GE.......
Signed,
GM :o)
