Detouring down a side road to get a better view of a sunset I came upon this wagon parked in a paddock. I stopped to ask the owner if I may photograph his two Clydesdales and he was very happy to be photographed as well. His name is Greybeard and this horse is Jake. They and the other horse Wallace and a dog are travelling around the South Island of New Zealand. . . Taken with Canon 450D.Thanks for looking, you comments are most welcome.

The sepia tone was just right for this photo. Greybeard looks quite impressive standing next to his horse. Hope he will send you a postcard from Christchurch :)

I too like people photos. I don't think we take enough of them. I really think it gives such a good flavor of the country. Sepia is good Lyn.

What a neat shot and the sepia is perfect. It raises so many questions about this fellow and what his story might be.

Fascinating little story, Eve and a remarkable find. I guess there are gypsies on every continent. I wonder what he is doing with the Clydesdales. Is that sepia? I thought it b/w. Must be my eyes, but it was a good idea to do this in monotone. It looks like it could be from some years back. My son tells me that gypsy is an ethnic term and rather I should say 'vagabond'.

Love this capture Lyn, Clydesdales are beautiful horses and the average one ways 1 ton or 2,000 pounds, now that's a big horse.

Hello Lyn.....It is really good to view this fine picture in mono....I like the way you have the horse and its owner in the foreground and the wagon in the middle ground....Most of these wagons here in the UK are decorated in the period of their time, primarily late Victorian and in quite high detail.....Well done.....All the best to you Lyn.......................Mick.
