Another from Easter Day . . . The Oamaru stone Baptist Church , Oamaru, was founded in 1883, and built in 1889. I found an old newspaper article describing the 'Opening Soiree" where 400 people listened to a history of the Church and that 'thanks to the liberality of the ladies of the congregation there was more than an abundant supply of good things' ! (for the tea you understand) North Otago Times, 16 July 1889 (Click)

Another fine shot Lyn. The entrance to hallowed ground always appears totally normal to its surroundings. Only once entered does the soul engage.

It really looks good if you take the time to look at it full screen LE. I don't know what is up with the members anymore. I like the soft white vignette on this one. I always thought vignette sounded a little religious anyway.
Great article as well. :)

Dreamy atmosphere and I like how the blue door is popping out of the white.

Great shot :o)

Clean, forthright, clear and reassuring...just what a church pic should be. I really like the border treatment...which enhances the mood, focuses attention on the subject and mutes any distracting background.

I like the white faded out background you have used for this. It sets off the building nicely.
