“Running water for luck” . . . . The Maero, fearsome rock hurling manbeasts of Maori legend (and believed by some to still exist in remote forest areas) are said to be unable to cross water - so this little running stream could be a lifesaver should you encounter one here. :) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Taken with Canon 450D in the Catlins rainforest area, New Zealand. Thank you for viewing. Comments always welcome and valued :)

There was probably a wild animal that was shy of water - like the lion. Nice shot of the rain forest scene with the stream and the wild growth of vegetation all around.

Lots of interest in here Lyn...

Have to disagree about running water for luck though...

This is a fantastic photo, Lyn! What a beautiful composition. You've made natural framing in nature, around these rocks and water. Faved my friend.

It's very hard to visualize the special atmosphere of a rainforest, but like to conclude that you've succeeded doing this in a perfect way, Lyn.

Great capture.

Regards, Cornelius.

What magnificent ferns you have! I like this series very much. It reminds me of the trails in the Olympic National Park in Washington state.

Nice forest scene. I like all the moss and fern in and around the little brook, with such good lighting.

This one looks like a miniature world, a micocosm. The only thing missing is wee folk playing in the water, but please, no gnomes? :D
