Lake Pukaki in the Mackenzie Basin, South Island, New Zealand, with the backdrop of Aoraki Mt Cook and the Southern Alps which are 70 kilometres in the distance. The lake is at an altitude of 480 metres above sea level. The glacial feed to the lakes in this area gives the beautiful blue colour. . . Two photos taken with Canon 450D, 17-85mm lens and stitched with Microsoft ICE.Needs full size view to see the mountains . . Thank you for viewing and for any comments which are always welcome and always valued :)

Lyn - The panoramic view is exciting, as are the colors. I am finding the mountain on the left edge of the image to be distracting, however. Perhaps cropping off some of the left and right edges might keep the balance of the core of the image while reducing the dark mass of the mountain. In spite of this, the image is amazing, another enjoyable part of this magnificent series. Thad

A striking wide view of the lake. So enjoy the diverse color tones and your low perspective. If I ever have the privilege to visit the area, your lakes will definitely be on my list!

Ok, LynEve, you really need to stop photos like this. Starting to get jealous that I can't just fly down there and see this beautiful area in person. Oh well, guess I'm going to have to live New Zealand through your photos.

Another fantastic and breath-taking landscape shot. I always look forward to what you post next.

Excellent work as usual LE. I think you should stitch one photo with the Canon and one with the Panasonic. I think that would be very interesting...........

I would not crop the mountain on the left. I think it adds perspective to the scene. Altogether lovely in my opinion.

That gorgeous blue is a common thing in glacial lakes. Excellent pano, Lyn. The clouds look as stark as the land in this shot. Thanks for sharing.
