The last of the day's sun casting a golden light on the breakwater in Oamaru Harbour, NZ. The rays in the sky are also visible in this shot. Thanks for the explanation of this phenomena given by Nikoneer on THIS image. I was not aware of them when I took this photo (was too busy trying not to fall in the harbour, balancing on the edge of a fishing wharf !) but they appear on several shots I took.
The little dots sitting on the breakwater are Spotted Shags which can be seen in great numbers. They nest in the nearby cliff faces.
