I hear the wind among the trees
Playing the celestial symphonies;
I see the branches downward bent,
Like keys of some great instrument.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

A gravel road meanders 25km over rolling tussock and wetlands here in the Ahuriri Conservation Park in the South Island of New Zealand. This part of it is the Ben Avon wetland area. Slow driving and 4WD vehicles required for the inner stages. This was taken on my first visit there and I hope to go again. As you can see it was extremely windy and the willows were bending and swaying in tune with the wind's song. Thank you for viewing. Comments always welcome.

Lyn - I am fascinated by the scene you have photographed. Wetlands, with lush green grass and willows gives way to barren mountains in short order. Thad

Very fine landscape photo, Lyn. Simple and beautiful composition with only two trees in the wetland and smooth texture of the mountain side are what I liked in this photo very much. But I feel the lack of the beautiful clouds of your country here.

The green in front contrasts well with the barren hills. Beautiful and well composed landscape image.

Another very fine landscape shot, LynEve. You've certainly captured the wind in this photo. In addition to the trees, the bent grass and ripples on the water attest to the blustery day it must have been. I think you did a great job of just holding the camera still. You've also done a fine job of capturing the immense scale of this land. And the soft green colors and electric blue sky are terrific. Well done!
