"And so it was that later,
As the miller told his tale,
That her face at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale."

While we usually think of flowers in terms of color, the absence of color in this beautiful composition actually causes us to focus more on the lines and details of the physical flower
itself. Very stunning - the white line around the subject enhances it. This went into my favorites right away! It's as if a black and white photo of a flower seems to make the photo have more emotion?

It looks like when a flower was first in the planning stages and then Mother Nature decided to add color. Thought provoking shot and Owd Timer's song really set the mood.

A terrific shot, LynEve! The light on the rose petals is exquisite. Love the contrast with the black background. Well done!

Why not a white flower? Many flowers are white, they just don't have white leaves, but the contrast enhanced by the conversion to b/w makes us see exactly what a rose is all about in excellent detail. There are so many petals on this lovely, it's hard to count them all. Super job, LynEve. For the contest I expect. Bon chance!
