During my recent photo visit up the Waitaki Valley (South Island, New Zealand) due to the lakes being full all the hyro dams were spilling - this is the Waitaki dam and as well as the normal controlled spill it was spilling over the top making an impressive sight. I have never seen this before, I dont think it happens often. Thanks for viewing. Your comments/opinions are always welcome and appreciated.

Nicely captured, LynEve. I am always amazed at the turquoise water there. Your skies have that lovely shade as well.

Looks like you chose a very advantageous spot for this photo LE. I suspect you checked out several before you settled on this one. The water looks soothing even though the power is tremendous.

Impressive flow! Love that beautiful water. Water here is always full of mud and silt giving it an ugly brown / rust color. Can't say your lucky with all the flooding in the area, but at least it's pretty water.

Beautiful shape and curve of the lines of water, Lyn. Judging by the color of the water, I'm guessing the source of this water is a lake surrounded by mountains. That blue-green has to be from glacial melt. Very nice. An excellent field of color and pattern for a desktop.

I really like this shot of the dam, as well. Very interesting perspective, and I like the spray rising off of the white water below the dam. The color of that water is fantastic! Well done, Lyn Eve!
