A wider view of THIS image. The tree must be very deep rooted to withstand the flow of water. Thanks for your views and any comments which are always welcome

A unique place and photo, Lyn. High technical and artistical quality. The place of the tree is very interesting in your photo.

A great perspective on the dam especially with those jaw dropping mountains as background. A beauty!

Guess that tree will never have to worry about a water shortage. The tree really shows how long the dam is. A great photo.

An impressive shot of the dam in action Lyn. The tree must be strong to survive this force so often.

And I thought the other angle was good LE. Such beautiful coloring. I suspect given time, the water will win out.

Lyn - This scene with the lone tree, dam and amazing mountains is striking, but for the pipes in the lower left. Thad

I left this comment the first time I saw this image in a Picasa album. You've already read it, Lyn, but maybe someone in the Caedes membership would glean something from another's perspective on this excellent photo. I really like this. Elementally it's fairly simple but has a lot of strength in the massive fields created by the mountain and sky, the sense of kinetic power created by the pouring water and the mountain, and the fact that it's all held visually at bay and accountable by the seemingly frail tree, growing in a completely unexpected spot, as though it is saying to the sky, roaring water, and mountain, "I may be small but I have the same strength to exist that you have!" I also like the composition -- the diagonal created by the mountain, the slash of roaring water appearing to stab the mountain, and the fact that there's just enough white water above the tree to make it appear vulnerable, surrounded by all the other elements.

A well composed, elegantly simple and clear photo, and deserving of a ten. I would suggest removing that tiny distraction in the water at lower left if you have the program to do so. The colors are great. Strong yet entirely natural looking, not artificially goosed up. Congratulations.

An impressive shot, LynEve! That clear blue sky and aquamarine water are a great color combination. Combined with the dark green mountainsides, this is a beautiful composition. And that small tree standing against the force of the river is amazing. Excellent sharpness and detail, as well.
