Continuing on our trail to Benmore Dam,New Zealand's largest solid earth dam on its largest man-made lake, Lake Benmore which has a volume of 12.5 million cubic metres of water. The dam is 823 metres long , 110 metres high and its spillway can cope with 3,400 cubic metres of water per second.The roar of this flow was amazing.

That is one powerful spillway LE. I bet the noise was as powerful as the view. Another good post.

I'm sure learning a lot about New Zealand's power generating infrastructure, with the added benefit of some fantastic visual aids. :)

I love this shot. This is a great view of the dam, and I like the mountains and blue sky in the background. Terrific exposure in the shaded areas and lots of pleasing detail in the white water. Well done, LynEve!
