Shhhhh . . do not disturb ! Of course anyone who has shared their home with fur babies knows that our angelic look when asleep is deceiving. We are simply resting before the next round of devilment. As well as the expected kitten chores - purrfect purring, looking cute and providing visitors with reason to say 'Ahhh', there are other important activities to be taken care of. Curtains to climb, ankles to bite, shoelaces to tangle with, cupboards to explore, not forgetting houseplants that must be tipped over in order to play in the lovely messy potting soil.
Then there is the after dark exercise regime, when foolish humans prefer to sleep. It takes a lot of energy to sound like a couple of elephants bounding up and down stairs and leaping off tables. Also, you would not believe the strength it takes to meow in unision beside our food dishes to let the humans know we are being starved - sometimes they leave us for a couple of hours with no sustenance !
Ahhh, it is hard work being a kitten. We need our rest.
Shhhh . . . was that a Canon clicking?

I inherited a cat from one of my departed (college) kids and I can really relate to your statement, "...to sound like a couple of elephants bounding up and down stairs and leaping off tables." When you think you are all alone and then you hear this ruckus going on downstairs, it makes you think you may have an intruder and should be grabbing for a baseball bat.

They look like they are hugging each other in their sleep. Excellent photo, Lyn, per normal from you.

Awwwww, this is absoulutely adorable!! :) I know exactly what it like to have 2 kittens running around, but now that Ive moved out of my parents house I do miss the cats so very much!! Unfortunetly one of our house mates is allergic to cats, so will be a while before i can have my own purr baby :) Thank you for sharing! Its truly a beautiful photo!
