Another geranium bud. I was about to abandon this one as it is poorly focused but I noticed the tiny insect sheltering from the rain and decided to keep it. Do you think it redeems it as an image or not? I may take it down if opinions are against :)
Taken with Canon 450D, 60mm macro lens. All opinions welcome

I think this is quite a nice shot and so worth keeping Lyn.

Excellent detail and glad you kept it, I noticed the bug in full view. Very interesting and love the softness and colour of the background

Dear LE,
This is most unusual image - simple, apparently even simplistic and yet offering so much to view.
The green prevailing is additional pleasure and great benefit.
Thanks, dear friend,
Yours SAM

I think it is a fine image, much better than I could do, but I can understand why you would think the fuzzy foreground was not up to your usual standard.

It's a beauty, Eve. However, just in case you're using Auto Focus with the Macro lens, I suggest you remember to switch the lens to Manual focus, so you know precisely where it is when you expose.
The Auto system can literally change ever so slightly, just from your breathing.
Of course, you can also quit breathing, but then you have to remember to start again :-)
Seriously, try Manual Focus, particularly for Macro, but also great for long lenses, where you want to control DOF.

Lyn - Your shallow dof may be of concern to you, but the focus is on the bug and adjoining plant. It works for me. Thad

Great close up. Did you see the little green bug on the underside of the stem?
