Hebe is the largest genus of New Zealand native shrubs, named after the Greek Goddess of Youth.
Butterflies find them very attractive.
The blossoms have a wide range of colours ranging from white through to deepest purple. This one is in our local Botanical gardens and was an easier subject colourwise than the one I have in my garden which is a deep cerise shade that I find difficult to photograph successfully:)
