This car attracted a great deal of interest. I think I heard someone say it was a Hornet - I am sure someone here will know and correct me if that is wrong :)
The car is awesome Lynn but I wanted to get a closeup of that beautiful red tent in the background; such style LOL!!:):) Okay, enough with the wisecracks- that's something Eubeen would say wouldn't you agree??:):)Very nostalgic and a really cool classic car. Thanks for sharing Lynn:)
Yep, a Hudson Hornet, most likely a 1956 or 1957 model built by American Motors Corp. The Hornet model that was built by the Hudson Motor Car Company had a series of curved chrome bars across the grill and those were built between 1951 and 1954. Very nice. The car AND the photo.

Nik is at least mostly right on! That design of the car was used from 1954 thru' 1957... according to the info at Wikipedia???... lookin' the same though dressed in red and labeled as 1957! Back in those days the design lasted a few years rather than changing every year as they now do!
It was not a beast... but rather an economy car for those days... my Dad chose it over an Austin back in 1954!.. 'though my memory had it as 1953? :o)
Edit: My sometimes faulty memory was indeed faulty... again! My Dad's car was a Hudson Jet (1953-54)... that explains why I was thinking it was a 1953. Below is a pic of a pre-1954 Hudson Hornet... it was the big ONE! One of my uncles had that car! I know you'll excuse me... that was nearly 60 years ago! I'm thinking that I never saw a 1954+ Hornet before this! :o)
There's a Dodge and a '57 Chevy in the background.
Although I did look at Wikipedia, I also used a NASCAR site for info as well as a museum curator. The first car that "Hoke" (Morgan Freeman) drives for "Miss Daisy" (Jessica Tandy) is an early 50's Hudson. It has the curved bars across the grill. The mid-to-latter 50's Hudson had the "V" grill seen your photo, Lyn.
