I was inspired by EJ's lovely images done with Topaz Simplify and downloaded a trial copy. This is one of my first efforts, and I rather like the result. The photo was taken with Canon 450D last year at Lake Tekapo.
They are Canada Geese of which there are more than 35,000 in New Zealand. Just a couple of weeks after this photo they were removed from protected game bird status, as they are considered pests. Five geese eat the same amount as one sheep, and they are also considered an aviation hazard. So to save the pastures a permit is no longer required to hunt them.
Such elegant birds, it seems a shame.
Than you for looking, comments/opinions welcome.
