The battle scene from the Chronicles of Narnia was filmed here.

Another view from Elephant Rocks
near Duntroon, North Otago, New Zealand. To be able to roam this area where the limestone rocks are estimated to be a million years old is a priviledge due to the generosity of the owners of this private land.

I really struggled with the fading light and am disappointed in the quality of this but perhaps the beauty of the scene makes up for that to some degree.
My thanks for your comments :)_

Breath taking scenery Lyn, I can understand why film crews love this location. It's a beautiful photograph Lyn but if you feel you can improve on it you can always return!

Certainly is a beautiful scene, Eve. I don't think you used your HDR plugin to recover that golden light spreading across the valley. That's tough landscape lighting when so much of it is compressed. the image is softer, but you can apply that to the recovered detail and tonal range quite easily.

Why are you disappointed Lyn. The scene looks wonderful with everything bathed in that glow from the low sun.

Yes, I wish the DOF was longer, spreading beyond the Elephant Stones, but upon first seeing it as a thumbnail my response was "Religious bovine, the color contrast is gorgeous in this one!!!" So no worries (or do they say that in New Zealand?).
