I could not see the sky rays when I took this so was surprised to see them in the photo. I have done quite a bit of post processing (gamma, exposure and luminosity adjustment)on it. I was not able to remove all the noise. Taken with Canon 450D last month and relegated to the bin until I had another look today. Not sure if it deserves to escape from there. Comments most welcome.

I read where someone called them Jesus Rays, LE. I think that is a great name for them.
Glad you shared this one. I got Gobsmacked as well with a touch of Stirfryed added in.

Oh it well deserves out of the bin Lyn - a little noise in the sky but not obtrusive and really beautiful.

This is definitely not for the bin Lyn. The rays shining through the breaks in the clouds on the green landscape make this a very beautiful scene well captured.

Hi Lyn. On first view, it is beautiful. As I read your narrative, and revisited the picture to see that which you spoke of and I feel you may have struggled a bit with this one.

Especially around the horizon line of your compostion. I still feel you have a beautiful picture and one which I wish I could call one of my own.

I agree with you that this image has some minor noise, but this, in my opinion, is not a valid reason to put it in the bin. When this image is viewed at full screen size, think every viewer is amazed and surprised about the composition and the play of light and shadow. Both the different colors and the sun rays are a bonus.
I enjoy this post very much, Lyn!

Regards, Cornelius.

So overcast a day. Perhaps a different technique for removing noise might be the answer. I have such a problem as that sometimes and nothing seems to make a difference. I love the sun rays.

Hello Lyn....To me this is a dramatic and powerful composition, with the dominant sky rays highlighting parts of the distant mountains and lowlands, makes this image very powerful and attractive....Well done...All the very best to you Lyn....Mick.
