This is the view looking in the opposite direction from my #6 post, towards Mt Cook (3,754 metres) which is New Zealand's highest mountain. The summit is 12 km from this spot. This area has an enormous 276" of rain annually although there was little evidence on this day and the grasses were tinder dry in the 30degrees C + temperatures.
I like the warm tones of the grasses in the foreground and of course that beautiful sky.
