I still have some of my 'Sea' photos to process. I hope you are not bored with them.
The waves crash over the breakwater very often, at times much higher than this. I just happened to be there when the light was good this time so got a bit clicker-happy !
The port of Oamaru was once the busiest in New Zealand. This breakwater construction was completed in 1884. Before then there had been 20 wrecks, the worst event being in 1868 when a fierce storm smashed up three ships and a new jetty.
10,000-ton freighters once came here, but by the early 1970's conventional coastal shipping was taken over by the interisland rail ferries.
Now the harbour is home to pleasure boats and fishing boats, and a rowing club. And our course, the penguins.
Thanks for viewing. Comments always welcome.

I could never get tired of your wonderful scenes from NZ Lyn - what an extraordinary land. This is a beauty no doubt - I love crashing waves - they crash along the shores of Lake Michigan here to about 12-15 feet in the winter.

More great splashes Lyn but the drama is really in the b&w image.
