I converted this photo of Lake Ohau to B/W and think it makes the scene look a bit ominous. The clouds were rolling over the mountains and there was a stiff breeze - and take my word for it the water was very very cold !~
Lake Ohau is a glacial lake of 60 kmē in the Mackenzie Basin of New Zealand's South Island. It is a popular ski-ing region and for you fisherpersons there is plenty of brown and rainbow trout, and some landlocked sockeye salmon.
The literal meaning of the Maori name Ohau (pronounced Oh How) is "Windy Place".
