The building in the centre of this photo may look fairly insignificant but it is a world renowned restaurant :) Called Fleurs Place (Fleur Sullivan being the owner)it was established in 2002 and is constructed from demolition materials on a old whaling station site. Bookings are needed to dine here and of course the menu has plenty of fish which is served the day it is caught.
"When British television chef and restaurateur Rick Stein was told he could choose to go anywhere in the world to write a travel article for English newspaper the Daily Mail, he chose Fleurs Place in Moeraki, New Zealand."
I have eaten here on several special occassions - and can vouch that it lives up to it's reputation :)

I know. Fleur Forsyte Monty has divorced Michael [poor guy he loved her so] and remarried man named Place oops named Sullivan. LOL I am a greatest fan of John Galsworthy and his Forsyte Saga including the film series from 1970 of course. Real classic! Eric Porter was perfect as Soames. Oh, but I seem to get lost ... Oh, back to my fish. Must run now to the nearest shop and buy me some fish!!! You whetted my appetite, dear LE, by this story of restaurants ... I forgot to look elsewhere in the image. Are the other houses just people's houses? Lucky guys, always first to book the table! HOWGH.

I would love to dine there as I almost always order fish when dining out/ I love the grasses in the foreground as it seems we are peeking into the shot.

It reminds me of a nice (and well known in that area) restaurant on the seaside right over the water in Nelson which I used to visit (also with my wife) whenever I was there. Good shot of the coastline Lyn.
