Another shot of the papier mache likeness of Queen Victoria I first posted HERE I have left the glorious colour on this one and the beautiful silky sheen can be seen full screen. She does not appear very impressed with the celebratory revelry going on around her, or perhaps she just does not like the colour of her face. This stands outside a gallery of masks and papier mache sculptures.
Canon 450D. Thanks for looking :)

Great textures in this not only in the paper mache but also the way she is decorated.

Lyn - The woman had an era named after her - in spite of herself! Terrific capture - I like the composition and contrasting colors/lighting/textures. Thad

Hope that there's an umbrella in the neighborhood Lyn, in the very rare case that it's raining cats and dogs in New Zealand, lol.

Great 'portrait' anyhow!

Regards, Cornelius.

Lyn, you must have read my mind...I was thinking of your sculpture here and one we have in Toronto and how if I ever posted it I would give it this title too, lol...she never did look amused from anything I've ever seen of her...great closeup and detail.

She has the same expression as Mrs b's late mother often had! This is obviously Queen Victoria in post-Albert but pre-Mr Brown time slot when she definitely wasn't happy or amused.

I really like this colored version and the title is an absolute hoot. Her oversized head reminds me of the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland, made to look even larger by the clipping of the top of her head, as though she was just too big to fit the frame. -Nik
