These sunflowers will produce a lot of bird seed which is their destiny!
Coincidentally there was a story in our local newspaper today about these plantings. It is the largest in NZ (over 80 hectares) A Japanese film crew recently visited the fields to make an advertisement for soft drink.

I've seen some large sunflower fields here in the Midwest but none of the scope of this - beautiful!

Didn't know that Japanese people drink sunflower oil as a soft drink, lol.

Wonderful capture. Agree to a certain extent with Phil in referring to the sunflower paintings of the famous Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh.
