This partially damaged building, whose occupants will never return home to retrieve their belongings, stands isolated and alone amongst the rubble. On February 22nd 2011 more than just buildings changed in Christchurch NZ - lives were lost and other lives changed for ever.
A play has been written based on conversations with people who experienced the earthquake horror. It is called "Munted" It has toured NZ and is now heading to Los Angeles - another earthquake-prone city, in July. http://www.boosted.org.nz/projects/munted

Sad scene and a sad reminder of what happened Lyn - That area appears to be more prone to earthquakes than other areas in NZ.

I remember that terrible time for the people of Christchurch. This fits the contest perfectly Lyn. That is the town that the people I met in 2012 that were traveling a good partt of the US, and we were having drought conditions in this area at the time. =^..^=tigs

This is a most interesting post Lyn and a timely reminder of natures wrath sometimes - in my area it's tornadoes and blizzards - my cousins in California deal with earthquakes.

I know how it is to have a big earthquake. We had one in 1963 in my town Skopje. This is interesting presentation of that, Lyn.

What a grim reminder of that dreadful day, LE.
B/W suits it just fine. It should be in your b/w challenge.
