A Foofy for Friday

Te ura o te Kowhai...The Glow of the Kowhai

Native to New Zealand the beautiful Kowhai tree flowers in early Spring, before the leaves appear. Their nectar is a favourite food for tui and kereru (wood pigeon).
They grow for 6 to 10 years before their first flowering and grow up to 10 metres.
We are fortunate to have two in our garden. The large one has to be chopped back frequently as the leaves fall in the roof gutters. They flowered very early this year.
In Maori Kowhai means yellow, and is pronounced 'kofai'.
Taken a few days ago with Canon 450D

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

The framing complements these blossoms beautifully Lyn and so unusual they are too. I remember these from other images of yours as that is the first time I had seen them.

Image, color, detail, composition and presentation are perfect Lyn.
Could have better said that everything in this image is perfect, so it's an excellent Foofy Friday image. Thanks for the interesting link as well.

Regards, Cornelius.
