As well as being utilized as temporary shops and offices as in one of my previous posts, shipping containers have been put to good use here beneath the Sumner Cliffs, unstable since the earthquakes. Hundreds of containers have been used this way.
Taken with Panasonic TZ60 through the car window as we bumped along the ridged road. I edited it in PSP and gave it a sketched and textured look in an attempt to disguise the not-so-clean glass :) .

Looks good in this artistic mode!...It takes away the grungy look that these containers look!

Good idea to put them to this use too!

Inventive way to use sea containers for this purpose Lyn. I like your solution as well. Very nice 'painting' (lol) my friend.

Will the containers really replace a solid wall? I doubt it. Your editing has made this into a nice painting Lyn.

A clever use of the containers. Nice canvas texture and a complimentary application of paint, LE.

Good shot of the wall and the container wall Lyn. Great idea to keep the wall from tumbling on the roadway after the earthquakes.

I hope the hill doesn't fall or is it the frigate cars i should be worried about? Very different picture. Be safe.
