Alpacas Bert & Ernie belong to my son's family. Here they have just been shorn.They look so different minus their fleece ! As can be seen it is near drought conditions in this area and they are hand fed lucerne daily while there is no grazing. Bert & Ernie are quite friendly, especially when they think food is on offer:) They make good pets and can live up to 25 years.

They look rather thin without their fleece. The white one looks almost like a young calf!

Life is a Constant Audition
I have heard that alpacas spit at people, but I have never had that happen to me...yet. They have been very congenial when I am around them. Great looking shot of these two, Lyn.

I have never seen them shaved like this, there is a Alpaca farm just west of town. They are cute, with cute names. I can tell there is drought, I hope you get rain soon. Nice capture of the two of them. tigs =^..^=

It does look dreadfully dry there Lyn - I'm sure these two don't mind loosing their coat in the summer heat! this is a cute shot with almost a 3D look.
