Cricket World Cup 2015. Today at the University Oval in Dunedin NZ where NZ beat Scotland by three wickets.
As Dunedin is known as the Edinburgh of the South the Scots surely felt quite at home and they and the crowd were well entertained by local pipers.
Of the two people in this household only one is a cricket fan and that is not me ! However,as these tickets were a Christmas gift I went along and to my surprise thoroughly enjoyed the day :) We were seated (on our little beach chairs) on the grass embankment on the right of this photo.
My only complaint was that is was very very hot, and as umbrellas are not allowed there was nowhere to hide from the sun and now I am quite a bright shade of red :)
Well done our lads !
I took this with the Panasonic TZ60 in panorama mode. No editing except to clone the head of the walking spectator in the beige shirt in the middle of the shot back on to his body, as somehow it was floating along in front of him.

Good good job on the editing/post processing, Lyn.

Wonderfully natural colours, and vibrant as well.
Good good detail and clarity.. no discernible noise, et al.

... ...

And not bad at the 'picture taking part', either.

;o)

Handled the technical considerations very well.

And but, of course..

Thanks for sharing this unique perspective with us. :o)

I used to be a cricket fan in my young days but now I am a soccer fan:) Your panorama capture of the field looks lovely. Would you care to explain to your caedes friends what means lbw or what is an over etc. :) :)

A great looking pano from right out of the camera Lyn - don't understand a thing about cricket of course, as it is unknown here, but it looks like a fun day equivalent to a day at the baseball park for us.

Lyn - Excellent photography! Many years ago several of us from the US tried to explain and demonstrate baseball to some British, who in turn tried to do the same for cricket. Needless to say, neither really understood the other, and the evening was better spent in conversation.

The panorama really gives a sense of being there, LE.
Your camera is really powerful for its size.

I don't understand Cricket at all, but I actually watched part of a game/match that was streamed through LiveTV.com. They have sports of all kinds from around the world that you can watch. You did a great job with this pano, Lyn. Are you going to get a press pass, so you can get close to take action shots?
