I've always found Iris' a tough pic due to their proportion and to how hard it is to get the flower to fill a frame and get most of it in the plane of focus as well. This shot is a pretty good illustration of those problems and also an illustration of why Iris' just keep calling us back to keep trying to capture them, gorgeous flowers, so elegant and languid in form but intense and dramatic in colour. Sadly, that bg really distracted my eye - is that lens bokh or some applied blur? My eye kept sliding off the flower and trying to interpret the bg, could be just my weirdness.
