This beautiful old tree stump is in our local Public Gardens. It is almost impossible to walk past it without stopping to admire and touch it's wonderful textures and sheen. I have done so many times but only recently did I think to take a photo of it :)

The tree may be long gone but that weathered stump will last a long time to come. Nice presentation showing the tenacity of the old weather stump.

I'm struck by how rounded the cut edge is on the top, and trying to picture how it was done or if that's a product of age. Great colors and patina on the wood, Lyn. Hopefully the city Parks Department feels the same as you and won't remove it as an "eyesore."
