Southern Alps, New Zealand, close to where Sir Edmund Hilary did his early climbing. I would like to say I climbed up there to capture this - but of course I didn't :)
Taken with Canon 450D with the help of a bit of zoom.

I VIEW ALL IMAGES FULL SIZE
I spotted over half a dozen crevasses indicating possible future avalanches. Like a lionfish, a silverback skunk, or a sea anemone... beautiful but deadly. Being the queen of black & white, Lyn, you sure know how to submit 'em. Very nice.

This shot was a bit difficult being that you had to be careful not to let brightness of the snow wash out the rest of the image. Good job.
