This was Private Jack Dunn. He got pneumonia after the first brutal month of fighting. When he returned from hospital he was still pretty weak and fell asleep at his post. He was sentenced to death for endangering his unit..

The star produced by the light in the background really adds to the photo LE.

Lyn, I've checked-out your link given in the narrative of your previous post and I have read: The giant sculptures took staggering 24,000 hours to create, and countless hours were spent researching their rich histories.
Amazing and very interesting. Hope with Sandi, that you have more of these.

Dramatic lighting. I didn't realize how large these were until I checked the link. The grim expression of this young man conveys the seriousness of the times. Amazing.

Lyn - A poignant image of this young soldier. From what I have read, pneumonia and other bronchial illnesses were very common in WWI.
