Edit: Thad mentioned the trees. They are Pohutukawa. When their brilliant red blossoms are out I imagine it would be a beautiful sight. I dont know for sure how old they are but they are old !

The board and batten exterior was popular in the era of this church's construction, as were the details of the carpentry of the interior. A beautiful example of the Gothic Revival style. By their scale, I wonder if the trees were planted in the time of construction. From the point of view you selected, the lighting contrasts are dramatic, helping to showcase the many angles of the roof lines and vertical battens. With that lighting comes the challenge of control - and you mastered that so well. A most enjoyable view of this old gem.
