These water-bound willow trees in Lake Wakatipu at Glenorchy New Zealand have become a photographers favourite and must have been captured millions of times :)
Glenorchy is at the head of Lake Wakatipu and is known as the Gateway to Paradise, an area just a bit further on. This is Lord Of The Rings country. I looked for Hobbits but they were hiding :)

I can sure see why it's a photographers location, gorgeous snow capped mountains and the trees leading your eyes up to the peaks beyond.

I too can see why photographers like this spot. I like the crossing diagonals in this composition with the mountains and the trees.

Wow, trees in the water here are dead in no time time and nary a leaf can be seen (in fact I was out kayaking an hour ago and got photos of those dead ones--yours are much nicer).

If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
I've never seen a such remarkable composition, Lyn: snow covered mountains and bathing willow trees. I'm curious whether the willows can survive in these very wet conditions. Anyhow a beautiful image!
