I spotted this little blue blossom as I walked around our public gardens. I do not know what it is. It was a shrubby tree. The flowers are quite small and I did not notice one of the petals is damaged but I decided to keep it for its pretty colour contrasts.
Canon 450D with 60mm macro lens.
Thank you for looking :) Edit: did some research and it is the shrub Plumbago auriculata

I love the so-called wild flowers. They can be so beautiful. Lovely Friday contribution, Lyn. Have a great weekend.

Bright colors and good focus on the flowers and a great bokeh as background Lyn.

First impressions..

Nice shot.

Good good colours, and agreed.. the colour contrasts are striking and eye-catching.

Focus and clarity are good good, too. Composition is fine.

Caveat?

The framing/border.

Simply put, too much of.. on the note of visual balance/weight. Kinda, sorta.. overwhelms the delicate flowers.

Here's a couple of good good articles for your perusal that discuss the subject matter:

"What Is Visual Weight? And How Visual Weight Helps Your Photos"

"Design Principles: Visual Weight And Direction"

So, and this is probably me stating the obvious.. if the framing/border was reduced in size (and I'll go so far as to add, simply black).. I believe you would/could readily elevate your image here.

Just typing out loud in the above and sharing some thoughts.

That said..

I like the shot. It's elegant in it's simplicity and the flowers are, reiterating, indeed eye-catching.

And.. but, of course.. thanks for sharing this visual splash of colour that has yet to make an appearance on our Northern Hemisphere's landscapes.

Lyn, I've read Les his, well documented, comment. Think it's just a matter of taste, because I like your presentation of this post. To me it's like a 'floral still life' now.
I like to say however that it's good that there are different opinions about beauty. If not, the world would be boring.
