Liverpool's iconic Royal Liver Building. Built in 1911 for the Royal Liver Assurance Group. It was recently sold for the first time for 48m pounds . It is constructed of reinforced concrete and topped by the two famous Liver birds - each copper bird is 18 feet tall. They are chained to the domes because legend has it that it they fly away the city will die. The birds are named Bella and Bertie, looking to the sea and inland, respectively.
This building looks very austere from the outside - inside it is amazingly different. Click Here for a little look inside.
This is an older photo onf mine that I have given a bit of a painted look to in a fit of nostalgia :)
