The Waitaki River reaches the end of its journey.
This is quite a deceiving picture. The drop down from the edge of the bank is a very long one so I kept well clear. :)
I'm estimating about 40 to 50 feet. That's some blue you've captured here, Lyn, along with all the other stunning colors. It certainly evokes a feeling of wind and loneliness, such that if the figure of a woman, in 19th century clothing, was seen standing in those red willows(?) or up here on the flat green, it would make a great cover for a novel about seafaring.
