There is nothing special about this photo but I just like the way the fern appears to be protecting and caring for the cyclamen. :)
Edit: Nik did some research on the type of fern (see in comments) and came up with "Drooping Filmy Fern" which is one I have never heard of. It looks similar but this one is called Asplenium gracillimum . Better known here as Hen & Chicken Fern.
So sorry Nik - you can not claim a prize,except my thanks for being interested enough to research it :) Perhaps a silver star !

What is special about this photo is the brilliant color overall. Good shot of the flowers and their protector.

"nothing special" she says... ppphhhhhtttttt. You're absolutely right about the fern, the way it appears to be a screen in front of the blossoms. The things is, this is not a fern I'm familiar with--so much space in between the leaves--so, of course, you know what I have to do now... go hunting on the web to learn about this fern.

Okay, I'm back. I looked at about 10 common ferns of New Zealand and I think this one is called the Drooping Filmy Fern. Am I right, Lyn? Do I get a prize? A beer? A gold star?

If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
Unusual -- I like the contrast of the green and the pink, and the diagonal lines help the composition. It works for me. :-)
