The remains of a wall behind the Steampunk HQ building. The bulding is c. 1880's so I am supposing the wall is the same age. This is an image I am quite fond of. I like the textures and the solidity of the local stone bricks and the way they just stop. This is just a portion of the top of the wall - a couple of stories tall. I shall post a larger view of it tomorrow. Taken with Panasonic TZ60. Thank you for your comments - they are always much appreciated.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

The textures and the colour tones on make the wall look attractive.

Lyn, you said in your narrative that it was a remains of a wall. Thought initially however that the construction of it was never ended.
In this stage it's a far more photogenic subject rather than a completed wall.
I agree about the textures, Lyn: just wonderful!

It must have been truncated for a reason, possibly to make room for something? I, too, like the textures and individual character--some cracked, some broken, some nearly pristine. What strikes me is that if they date to the 1880s, 130-140 years ago, whoever quarried them was meticulous about their sizes, their height being exactly the same. What also strikes me are the weeds growing on it. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised by that... a couple weeks ago I photographed full-sized trees growing on the near-vertical sides of Devils Tower in Wyoming, hundreds of feet up. The continuity of this image should make for a good monitor wallpaper, with the icons easy enough to find.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
