I am posting this for those of you who enjoyed my two previous "Wall' photos. You can just see it in context to the left of the building in this photo.
This is at the back of the Steampunk HQ building, originally called Meeks Grain Elevator built in 1883 when the town at that time was a flourishing sea port, and bigger than Los Angeles. By the time it was competed it was almost obsolete as New Zealand had stopped providing wheat to the UK by then. The five storey building was the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere . In 1920 the top two storeys were destroyed in a spectacular fire and the roof at the rear of the building fell in. The wall in my photos is what remains of the south wall and has been standing like that since the fire.
