A bee feasting on the nectar of Pineapple Sage ((Salvia Elegans). Each time I walk down my path past this plant I grab a leaf and crush it to release the pineapple scent. The leaves are edible - can be used to make a tea or in salads, salsas etc. I have been told the flowers are also edible but have not sampled one. The nectar rich flowers attract the bees and butterflies and small birds.

What really grabs my attention here is your wonderful top notch presentation. I don't think I have ever heard of this plant.

A flower that smells like pineapple... wow. From the color I would never have made that connection. You must have one heckuva garden, Lyn, but if you harvest parts of this plant for a salad, beware the crunchy parts... it might be a bug or a bird in there with the greens and carrots! It took a bit of study to determine just how this contortionist bee fit itself into the flower but the whole is certainly is a pleasing combination.

Nice to see you using the frames like you did years ago LE. That, along with vignetting makes this a beauty. I remember learning how to do frames from you. Thanks.
