The creature and it's shadow.
A Steampunk creation for Manic Monday :)
I think it is a giant Weta which you can read about HERE - a most interesting insect that can outweigh a mouse !
Wētā have been around long enough to see dinosaurs come and go

You folks must have to use some over-the-top pesticides down there in New Zealand, Lyn. A regular monster.

The shadow makes it look doubly menacing, LE.

I'm glad that this giant (Deinacrida rugosa?) is an iron one, not able to enter my open sleeping room window pane, ☺ .

Perfect entry for Manic Monday, Lyn.

Don't like creepy crawly steampunk or otherwise this has a dagger as a tail not good not good at all. You did capture it very very well a great shot.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Sorry I'm late to the party here. Playing catch-up ...

Amazing sculpture, made all the more spectacular and dramatic by your capture with the lighting.

But your link seriously blew me away. What a COOL BUG!!! I had no idea that such a creature existed. It reminds me of a grasshopper/cricket on steroids.

Very, very neat. I learned something!
