This is an excellent shot Lyn. This type of dahlia is called "Jessica" at least here. Your Jessica is so lovely.

Nature in all her glory is my uplift on life and so is my love of photography. sandi ♪ ♫
Whoah... normally most people would include the entire blossom but I have to say this crop provides more. More contrast between those petals at the top and the background. More detail in the middle of the flower, with the sharp focus of those thin purple lines making it look almost as though you'd drawn it as vector art. More color gradation making the entire blossom look as though it was an explosion from gold at the center, to white, to several gradated purples. 5 stars.
